September 23 ushered in the Autumnal or Fall Equinox - the magical turning point of the year. This begins the season of darkness when the nights become longer and the days shorter. The equinox also represents a time when the veil between the realms of the living and the dead is at its thinnest, and the energy of the planet moves into a higher frequency and harmony.
September's Aries Harvest Full Moon on September 29, is another powerful supermoon and is connected to the Aries New Moon and Solar Eclipse that we had earlier this year. Think back to the intentions you set back in March and April, and see if you can begin to identify those manifestations taking shape now.
Eclipse season is beginning, which means we may start feeling the rumbling of transformation seeping into our consciousness and our lives. This Aries Full Moon is a bit intense as it carries some fiery energy. We may feel a little headstrong, or we might get easily triggered during this Full Moon. It'll be important to pause, take a few breaths and steps back, and assess any situation you find yourself in before making decisions or rushing full speed ahead.
If you find yourself triggered during this phase of the moon, and in the midst of strong emotions, a great way to help move through those emotions is through movement! Dancing, exercising, yoga, stretching, and walking are all healthy and helpful ways to release unsettling or unpleasant emotions.
Chiron, known as the wounded healer, is also very active under this Full Moon, shining a light on the healing that is most needed in our lives. It seems we are being asked to stop playing the victim, to stop feeling sorry for ourselves, and to rise up into our inner warrior, into our true unadulterated authentic selves.
This full moon brings a reminder of the importance of balance, abundance, honoring our home, and learning from our experiences. This is a time of turning inward, like nature does during this time, and of settling into a slower pace and rhythm.
Eclipse season is just around the corner, and eclipses are notorious for bringing about dramatic change! So with this knowledge in hand, having or creating a plan for the rest of the year can help ease tension and create a sense of stability. Creating a simple routine for yourself, setting and maintaining boundaries, and surrounding yourself with beauty and comfort are all things that can help during this time.
Full Moon Ritual Ideas:
This Aries Full Moon will be a particularly great time to practice aura and environmental cleansing. Use any method you are comfortable with for cleansing your energy field and your environment. This could just be the room you spend the most time in, your whole house, or your office or car. Follow your intuition. You can use crystals, essential oils, incense or smudge sticks, and sound. I love using incense to cleanse my spaces and my energy field. I also love to utilize water to cleanse my aura. It's a soothing and comforting method that always works for me.
If you can go outside and take in the energy of the moon, let her shining light envelope you and bring you peace.
And of course, don't forget to journal! Take some time to write all the things you are ready to release under this Aries Full Moon in order to prepare yourself for the upcoming New Moon and eclipse season.
With any ritual I find it helpful to light a candle, or if your location permits, a bonfire to help signify to the universe and the moon your intention to shed all old, negative habits and energy and welcome in the energy of new and fresh beginnings.
